Cookie Pixie: The Beginning

First, I must say that I am by no means an accomplished cookie decorator. I'm not even particularly handy ~ I can't draw to save my life, for example. What I have in spades, however, is will; persistence. I'll keep practicing until I get it right. This blog will be my record of my journey through learning how to master cookie decorating. I'll share what I learn and cookies I make, as I go along.

You won't find professional-looking photos here—I usually just snap a quick pic with my phone. You also will see splotches of icing, puffs of powdered sugar, random tools and ingredients making an appearance in the photos. I'm the mommy of a toddler—I'm lucky if I can sneak a minute to make cookies, let alone spruce up for fancy photos. I hope that won't deter you from visiting. Maybe you'll be inspired to think, "If she can do it, so can I" :)

OMG...you are me 15 years ago, what ever you do don't make it a business. Unless you have an army of people working for you. It totally killed me and there is only so much the market will bare for a cookie. Now of course if you live in Hollywood or New York it's a totally different story. I turned my hand painted cookies into a business, did a TV spot and was just about to get asked onto my favorite show at the time, wow...now I can't even remember the name?? Was up all night working on jobs until I went out of my mind. Your work is fabulous and your blog so lovely my cookies as canvas was before digital cameras so all the pics are on film that I have not scanned in the computer but if you are looking for any shape cutters let me know. I designed quite a few for special commissions. If you promise not to burn yourself out I would gladly sell them to you.
